Despite all the flak received by Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare from space warfare haters, there are people who enjoy playing that game, as shown in its active multiplayer community. Developer Infinity Ward is well aware of that, and the latest addition of the Proteus rifle is supposed to retain the entertainment value, until you realize it was OP as hell.
The new sniper rifle/shotgun hybrid is a powerful weapon that can help players take down close ranged and far away enemies, but it went overboard by having its own aimbot. All you need to do to take down up to three enemies at once is to aim at their general direction, and the gun will do the rest. It’s all fun and games at the start until everyone abuses the “feature”, which caused plenty of complaints on the Infinite Warfare subreddit, and the Call of Duty and Steam forums.
Luckily, Infinity Ward took notice of the issue, before issuing an update to level the playing field once again. With that said, it’s not a satisfying solution for all, as some of them prefer to have it permanently in the game, at least in custom game modes. What’s your next move, Infinity Ward?
