Overwatch Hammond Is Having A Ball With New Skins, Emotes And Highlights

By Intan Mawarni on Jul 13, 2018

Overwatch’s new hero, Hammond, may be a teensy hamster but he’s not an ordinary hamster. He sows destruction as presented in his go-to name, Wrecking Ball, and he’s the latest hero to be introduced in Overwatch this year after Brigitte.

Despite rolling around in his giant hamster ball mech in the PTR mode for some time, a new PTR patch brings brand new Hammond’s skins, emotes and highlights in the game. Hammond’s gigantic tank received some vibrant paint jobs; from blueish to reddish tint. His fur also changes according to the skins as well.

His legendary skins tell us a bit more of his past being experimented by scientists and attained his intelligence at Horizon Lunar Colony, as well as surviving in Junkertown gladiator arena, which he acquired his Wrecking Ball nickname.

Take a look of his skins below:

Moreover, the new update ushers in new emotes of him leaping out of his mech to greet, out and about doing repairs, take a break after, having an evil laughter, and preparing his best Sumo pose. There are also various victory poses to choose from, with one of the poses actually mirroring D.Va’s Peace style. Here are all his grand poses:

To top it off, Hammond’s cool highlights intros feature him popping out of his mech tank, using his mech as a hamster wheel and coming in like a wrecking ball. Have you ever wondered how Wrecking Ball’s golden weapon looks like? Feast your eyes in his golden weapon below, which will pair well with Junker’s skin:

After the new PTR patch is live, Blizzard’s artists held a livestream detailing further into the creation of Hammond’s new skins. You can watch it here. So far, there is no confirmed date as to when Hammond and his skins are going to hit live servers for consoles and PC.
