Asia Comic Con (ACC) 2018 is set to bring three days of unforgettable pop culture experience for the first time in Malaysia. Today, ACC has opened its door to the public from 13 to 15 July at Sunway Pyramid Convention Centre.
The inaugural ACC 2018 is set to be packed with a lot of activities and exhibitions in store for all pop culture lovers from gamers to cosplayers. Visitors can look forward to the final showdown of Moh Skor eSports Tournament 2018, which will see contestants compete in FIFA Online 3 and FIFA18, as well as Mobile Legends to win a part of the total prize pool worth RM50,000!
For tabletop game lovers, the Cards & Hobbies zone must be right up at your alley! The old school Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) lets you fill in a character sheet to embark on your own D&D journey. There are also challenges ahead where you can join in magical rounds of Magic: The Gathering. You can also paint your own Warhammer miniature and bring it back home. Speaking of miniatures, toys are also among the highlights of ACC 2018.
If you’re a Marvel or DC fan, attendees will be gravitated towards the life-sized X-Men’s Magneto Chair (with Magneto’s helmet!) along with Batman’s Tumbler and Batpod. Other than that, XM Studio shows off line-ups of premium collectibles from famous movie franchises such as Star Wars, as well as Marvel blockbuster films like Thor and The Avengers. Another stunning exhibition brought from Japan is the Dragon Quest diorama that captures the intricate details of characters and world of Dragon Quest.
Throughout these three days, there will be music performances by Japanese anisong singers: Mao (Doraemon) and NoB (Super Sentai and Saint Seya) and Thailand group idols Siam Dream and Sweat16. Local music talents are also taking the centre stage. Among them are Higashi Kitty Band, Miracle Beats and violinist Luna Lorrain.
Cosplay lovers can meet up with star cosplayers such as Pion Kim and Aza Miyuko. In the meantime, visitors can take a walk in the artist alley to check out our local artists’ artworks such as comics, illustrations, keychains and more.
The inaugural ACC 2018 was launched by Regional Founder of ACC, Krit Vitayasamrit along with Malaysia Partners and Organisers Tan Mong Chon, Michael Zchang, Vincent Low of I Hub Advertising.
