Video game development isn’t cheap but, with some video game magic, these developers are able to channel their hard efforts to produce games for free. Yes, you heard that right. For free.

In the midst of the abundant game announcements from E3 2018, let’s find out games you can get without losing your arms and legs.

The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit

Announced during Microsoft’s E3 2018 press conference, The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit tells a story of a 10-year-old boy, Chris who loves to daydream and wishes to be a superhero. One day, he finds out that his dreams are not just pipe dreams anymore.

Set in the same universe of Life is Strange, Dontnod Entertainment stated that this stand-alone adventure will give you a sneak peek into the story and the characters of Life is Strange 2 if… you’re able to figure it out. The Amazing Adventures of Captain Spirit will be available for free on 26 June for PC (via Steam), PS4 and Xbox One.

Quake Champions

Quake Champions is the latest version of one of the oldest first-person shooter franchises. The latest game includes new challenging bots in all-classic mods like Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, and Instagib. You can also compete with your friends in multiplayer Ranked Duel and 2v2 Modes.

As announced at Bethesda’s E3 2018 conference, Quake Champions is now available for free but for a limited time only from 10 June until 17 June. Get your early access look into the game by clicking this link. And if you manage to download it before June 17, the game will be free for you, forever.

The Elder Scrolls: Legends

Another free game that Bethesda had in store is the revamped strategy card game, The Elder Scrolls: Legends. This time around, Legends is not only limited to mobile platforms (Android, iOS) and PC but it will also be released for PS4, Xbox One as well as Nintendo Switch. You can get this game for free but unfortunately, it’s not available in Southeast Asia’s Play Store and App Store. If you’re interested, you could get the card game by using an account from other countries.

Fallout Shelter

Fallout Shelter is a free-to-play mobile game where you’re an Overseer in charge of your own Vault tasked to keep your Dwellers happy with sufficient power, food and water. Previously launched for both Android and iOS, Fallout Shelter is now coming to PC, PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch.

Gears Pop

No, this is not a joke. This is the cutest Gears of War trailer ever. This Xbox exclusive title will join forces with Funko to create a free mobile game coming in 2019.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3

In conjunction with the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 this 12 October, PlayStation announced during their E3 2018 conference that Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 is free on PS4 from now until 11 July. However, the game is only up for grab if you are a member of PlayStation Plus.

Fortnite for Switch

The famous battle royale game has expanded its territory to the popular console, Nintendo Switch. Although Fortnite has been released for iOS for quite some time, players can play the game on-the-go with Switch for free. However, there is a slight problem. Kotaku reported that those who play on the PS4 cannot login into the game on Switch.

For Honor

The hack-and-slash game developed by Ubisoft is now free, albeit momentarily. The free offer begins today until 18 June. Their latest E3 2018 press conference revealed new contents for the game but, you can only get the Starter Edition of For Honor for free on Uplay.

The game that defies the laws of shooter games is currently free! But with a sad backstory. Due to the closure of Boss Key Productions, Lawbreakers is officially closing in 14 September. The game’s publisher Nexon explained further that Lawbreakers is only free-to-play on Steam from now until its closure.

Realm Royale

From the studio that brought Paladins comes another battle royale game, Realm Royale. You can play as five different classes: Hunter, Mage, Assassin, Warrior and Engineer. Each of them has different abilities as well as crafting abilities. Realm Royale is now available for free on Steam.

We got our Hari Raya presents early, thanks to the video game industry! Remember, some of these games are free for limited time only so make sure you redeem the games quickly. Don’t forget to follow us on Facebook and Twitter for more gaming news and features.
