Despite this Kotaku report mainly focused on Mafia 3 developer Hanger 13’s tumultuous ups and downs, it came with an unexpected twist much akin to the plot of BioShock games.
Although the new BioShock scoop is not supposed to be the focal point of the article, it was worth noting that the publisher 2K Games assigned a secret studio to be working on a project codenamed “Parkside” which was later revealed to be the new BioShock game.
According to some people who have intimate knowledge about the studio, they discovered that a super secret BioShock game is currently under development by a neighbouring studio which caused some of the employees decided to jump ship to work at the studio next door.
The project is so deep under secrecy that someone close to the studio said, “If anyone from Hangar 13 tried to strike up a conversation with them, they’d say, ‘Oh, we can’t really talk about it. It was all very tight-lipped.”
In fact, the confidential BioShock project is still in its infancy and trying to keep the development team in a small number as possible.
To avoid another calamity to happen inside Hanger 13 studio while they’re trying to develop a new action-rhythm game with a working title, Rhapsody, one source said “They’re (unknown studio) trying to be really smart about figuring out what the core thing is. They’re careful about not falling into the same problem every studio has, where they have too many people and nothing for them to do.”
The gorgeous BioShock Infinite was the latest instalment for the BioShock series back in 2013. Later in the year of 2016, the BioShock: The Collection comprised of the remastered version for BioShock 1 and its sequel, BioShock 2 as well as Infinite was released for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
Many BioShock fans (including me) are super excited to hear about this news but there’s not much information to go on about the upcoming BioShock game except for the alleged project codename.
