The prison escape game, A Way Out, is selling like hotcakes. The developer Hazelight Studios tweeted that the game has sold over 1 million copies since its launch on March 23.Despite its unique two-player only video game, A Way Out sold more than EA thought it would sell in a lifetime. Publisher EA predicted that the game would only sell for 894,000 total copies based on its marketing plan.
Defying this forecast, A Way Out director Josef Fares responded to this news with utmost excitement because he’s a very passionate man.
HOLY SHIT, this means that 2 million players have played the game. Thank you so much❤️ https://t.co/W8WP6HI44Z— Josef Fares (@josef_fares) April 13, 2018
He also helped do the math by stating “2 million players have played the game”. In case you didn’t know, it’s compulsory to have two players to enjoy this game. So if one person buys A Way Out, the owner can give an additional Friends Pass to invite another player for free.
If you’re still thinking there’s a catch, watch how Friends Pass works in the video below courtesy of Fares:

With such an astonishing sales figure under their belt now, Fares and the studio are currently gearing up for a new game. But it’s still in early development so there’s no scoop from him yet.
A Way Out successfully captures the spirit of co-op video game with its carefully designed activities for two players and gorgeous cinematics presentation. We at Gamehubs certainly had a blast with this game as stated in our review.
