WoW: Legion's Patch 7.1 is still hot and fresh from the oven, releasing only a couple a weeks ago and Blizzard are already baking up another batch of content for us to devour. Legion game director Ion Hazzikostas took to the stage at BlizzCon 2016 to give us some insight of what's to come in Patch 7.1.5 and Patch 7.2.
This patch is Legion's very first 'small' patch where it focuses on long-term game additions instead of content that only fits within the constraints of any given expansion. Patch 7.1.5 features a couple of nice changes such as new timewalking dungeons. Timewalking dungeons allow players to revisit old dungeons with max level difficulties and earn special cosmetic rewards. For this patch, all six dungeons from 2012's Mists of Pandaria expansion will be available for the timewalking feature. Besides that, an update to the Brawler's Guild and the Blade's Edge PvP arena rounds of the small patch. Patch 7.1.5 will arrive in the PTR servers in the near future.
OK done with the small patch, onwards to the BIG patch, Patch 7.2: The Tomb of Sargeras. In this patch, players will return to Broken Shore where the Legion first arrived in this expansion. The zone will be completely revamped and class order halls will form a joint alliance to form a new faction: Armies of Legionfall. With this new faction, players will need to complete objectives such as choosing which buildings to build to unlock different rewards and bonuses. Flying will be made available in the new zone via achievement objectives similar to how you unlock flying in the previous Warlords of Draenor expansion. With flying now available, players can now also earn epic new mounts specific to your class only.
The new raid, Tomb of Sargeras, will have nine bosses and progresses the main plot of Legion following the yet to be unlocked Nighthold raid. There you will face the Legion in all its might and at the end of it all stands Kil'Jaeden.
Besides that, a new 5-player dungeon called Cathedral of Eternal Night will serve as a filler dungeon for players, very reminiscence to The Burning Legion days. This four-boss dungeon will also take place in the Tomb of Sargeras area, but players will ascend it rather than descending. Also in 7.2, mythic-only dungeons in Legion will now recieve heroic versions to cater for the more casual players. Owh and one more thing, Blizzard teased that players will going to the Legion planet of Argus beyond Patch 7.2. Yeap, all aboard the hype train!
That about wraps the main highlights for Patch 7.1.5 and 7.2. For the complete list of features and details on both of these patches, head on down here. Blizzard said that as soon as Patch 7.1.5 goes on the live server, Patch 7.2 will be made available on the PTR servers.
