Horizon Zero Dawn’s developer, Guerrilla Games, recently released the newest Patch 1.03 for its huge post-apocalyptic game. Publisher Sony said this update basically fixes several crashes and bugs that have been faced by players (God bless their frustration).
Guerrilla Games’ official Facebook page stated that a total of 17 issues has been fixed in the game in Zero Dawn’s newest patch, which was just released yesterday. According to Gamespot, the size of said patch is merely as big as 228MB, which is great news for those who have been unable to play the game due to the game’s current issues, and have been dying to play it for almost a week since its release on 28 Feb.
To simplify the list of patch notes posted by Guerrilla Games’ page, some of the issues this update has fixed includes crashes that could occur when one is undergoing some of the quests in-game, glitches where non-playable characters would appear or disappear in puzzling locations, progression issues where the loading screen would hang, just to name a few.
Thankfully, as someone who has been putting in almost 16 glorious hours into Horizon Zero Dawn, I have not encountered any of the issues voiced by other people, such as experiencing crashes during the opening cutscene. But I hope that they fix the issue where I wasn't able to collect one of the power cells needed to unlock the game's most powerful armour, the Shield-Weaver armour, without completing the entire game.
Otherwise, best PS4 game of the year so far!
To convince readers further to try out this breath-taking new IP from Guerrilla games, Zero Dawn has received strong praises from critics and is currently PS4’s biggest IP launch to date! It reached the top of the UK sales chart last week, even sweeping Nintendo’s The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild off from the peak.
