Halloween is still months away, but who says you can't prepare for it now? The Letter, an interactive horror visual novel that is available on Steam, Android and iOS, is now a year old and is celebrating by offering a 33% discount on the game on all platforms until 30 July 2018.
Filipino developer, Yangyang Mobile, developed the visual novel after it was successfully crowdfunded on Kickstarter for US$33,946 back in 2015. The game was officially released on 24 June 2017, and has been seen as a success with its strong voice acting, great animation, high level of horror, as well as multiple endings.
The game revolves around seven characters who read, what they assume is, a chain letter from an old mansion, and it doesn't take long for things to go downhill from there. Each character has to face a vengeful ghost that is keen to take her down with them, and it's up to you to help these characters make the right decision to uncover the truth, or else...
Despite being a visual novel, there is some level of gameplay involved in the game where you're smashing buttons repeatedly or in order to escape. For mobile players, you may also need to tilt your phone a certain way as well. If you're not keen on this, the game does give you the option to skip it, especially if you're replaying the game again to unlock a different ending.
From experience, you can be certain to play this game over and over again to see the various endings, making it a great game to get for its replayability and scares.
