Fallout, the beloved post apocalyptic franchise from Bethesda Softworks is now coming to a new platform, and it won't be digital. And if you guessed it right, yes, it will be making its way to the tabletop arena. Created by Fantasy Flight, who has previously made games such as Star Wars: X-Wing Miniatures, and XCOM: The Boardgame, Fallout: the Boardgame is coming out later this year.
“With just a few locations pinpointed on their map,” said Fantasy Flight in its announcement, “players choose whether to work together or individually to explore these mysterious regions that lay before them. Along the way, each player will face a wealth of choices, deciding whether to pursue experience or Caps, collect loot or loyal companions, and progress the main questline or veer off to the vaults.”
There will be up to 4 player support, and it will bring characters from the modern Fallout games as well as characters from its various DLCs. Player roles range from a humble scavenger to a fully suited Ranger. There will even be non-human class races such as a Super Mutant or a Ghoul. The S.P.E.C.I.A.L system makes a return as players add their stats sheet on the sideboard and there will be a special variant for the VATS system within the game as well.
