Another day, another triumph in the esports community! The 4th edition of recently concluded Intel Challenge Katowice 2018 (CS:GO) tournament (24th-25th February), which was held at the IEM Expo saw Team Dignitas emerging as the victors after downing Squared Prospect 2-0 (16-2 inferno, 16-4 train). The tournament is a ladies-only event, whereby eight teams from ‘round the globe will battle it out for gold (USD25,000) and glory (grabbing the title of being an Intel Challenge Katowice 2018 Champ).

With a total prize loot of USD50,000, this means Squared Prospect will walk away with USD12,000, 3rd place RES Gaming with USD8,000 (defeated VivoKeyd with a 16-7 mirage, 16-14 train score) and 4th place VivoKeyd with USD5,000. Moolah and pride aside, it’s always awesome and great to see womenfolk being given the opportunity and space in the esports community to shine.

Following Scarlet’s success, Geguri’s inception into the Overwatch League and Intel Challenge Katowice 2018’s teams and champ (Team Dignitas), these are definitely inspiring and motivating moments for all the female gamers out there! On a general scale, inclusivity and diversity are always welcomed in the video gaming and esports community; the world could use more of these, instead of toxicity.

After all, video games are for everybody while toxicity is for nobody! Remember, glass ceilings are meant to be shattered and the sky’s the limit…;)
