Super Mario Odyssey trailer got injected with some real world flavors and the result is hilarious

Super Mario Odyssey was recently revealed at the Nintendo Switch Presentation, showing us the latest iteration of the classic plumber in an open world setting. Mario is no stranger in a sandbox style game, as shown in Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine. With that said, the reveal trailer showed the character entering the real world in the form of New Donk City, which can be a bit strange for fans of the series, until YouTube user CrowbCat came up with his own version of it.

If you haven’t seen the trailer for Super Mario Odyssey, it shows Mario being a nuisance to the hustle and bustle of city life by running around the streets, bouncing on car bonnets, and swinging off lamp posts. CrowbCat’s version has the same flavor to it, with a real world twist. By using a Mario model in GTA IV, you can actually see how Mario functions in the real world, and the result is horrifying yet hilarious at the same time. Jumping on car bonnets is literally nothing compared to a seemingly boneless Mario flailing around the city and wreaking havoc. Not to mention the unforgettable scene of our favorite plumber getting naughty in a strip club.

The real Super Mario Odyssey will launch exclusively on Nintendo Switch later this year. Until then, maybe you can take a trip back to Liberty City for some harmless Mario fun.
