StarCraft: Remastered is slated for release this August, and it’s pretty darn cheap

Blizzard announced that the original StarCraft will get a remaster back in March, and we could have been forgiven for thinking that it’ll come next year the earliest. But luckily, we don’t have to wait for long as Blizzard has officially confirmed that StarCraft: Remastered will launch on August 14.

The remaster of this classic RTS will feature a total revamp, including 4k graphics, new illustrations to “enhance storytelling” in the campaign, online and social support via Blizzard’s gaming app, and even cloud saving. Most importantly, it’s pretty darn affordable as well, with a price tag of $15. Considering the original game is still holding up pretty well by modern standards, it’s a huge bang for your buck.

PC Gamer’s Kwanghee "Waxangel" Woo had some first hands impression with the game, and this is what he has to say. "StarCraft: Remastered is the right game at the right time, arriving as a loving tribute to StarCraft: Brood War as it experiences a second renaissance in Korea. Tradition and modernity are often at odds, but Blizzard has balanced the two admirably."

I guess StarCraft: Remastered will be one of the must-buys of the year, and you can preorder it now from Blizzard’s online store. If by any chance you are a sucker for the original, it can be downloaded for free.
