Malaysian Inklings! Get ready to splat the turf in the Splatoon 2 Malaysia Open Tournament. Organised by Splatoon Community Malaysia, the tournament is open to teams of all ages and fans of Splatoon 2. The qualifiers round will be conducted online on the next two weekends from 21 July to 22 July and 28 July to 29 July.
There are five modes presented in this tournament; Splat Zones, Tower Control, Rainmaker, Clam Blitz and Turf War. The games’ matches will be a rotation of five ranked modes and the 5th match is designated only for Turf War mode. Teams can decide which team to face off each other in round robin format in ‘best-of-3’ matches. The winner of each bracket will go through the knockout stages in a single elimination format.
As for the knockout, the showdown will begin on 4 August at ATO Online Store. The champion of the tournament will stand a chance to bring home PRO controllers for each member of the team sponsored by ATO Online Store.
For team registration, make sure you have 4 members in a team. The competition also allows 2 substitutes for a team. You can register your Splatoon squad by clicking this link. If you’re interested to join in the tournament but don’t have a team, don’t worry. Fill in the solo registration form and they’ll help you to find your team. Both of the categories are free of entry charges. The final day of registration is on this Wednesday, 18 July.
