Restriction Lifted for Credit Card Purchases at Nintendo America

By Riez on Feb 8, 2017

All this while, any Nintendo 3DS gamers that you know would have their console registered either under any of the US states or Canada. This is so that they could purchase digital copies of their games rather than hunting for the physical copies out in the open market.

However, for the past 5 years Nintendo America had restricted gaming purchases to just American issued credit cards, leaving gamers with no choice but to either use Nintendo Cash Codes or change their console region to Canada.

Well, not anymore! According to a post on Nintendo 3DS Singapore Facebook Page, the credit and debit cards restriction has been lifted. Now you can purchase games even with Malaysian issued cards!

We had a friend personally tested this by trying to renew the PokeBank app and guess what, it works! What are you waiting for then? Go and shop digital to your heart's content and good riddance, pesky Cash Codes!
