We definitely love our games to have a great sense of realism, but maybe it's best to keep that out if you want to hype a game. Red Dead Redemption 2 should be anything but boring, yet for some (un)lucky Gamestop attendants who got to see its all-new demo, the game was just that.
Those who were at the 2018 GME conference had the opportunity to watch the demo. According to those who watched it, the demo was more like a walking simulator than an action title. Not exactly the best way to garner excitement for a highly anticipated title from Rockstar.
To be fair, it was a vocal minority. One user also pointed out that everyone was exhausted from the long week and it was the final show they watched before the event ended. For some positive words, the game did look beautiful and there was no doubt the game would be fantastic. Even so, there was no denying that the demo itself lulled a number of people to sleep.
You can read more about the negative thoughts here. Some of the bad comments include:
I kept looking at my watch… “the action is going to start…now? Please?” - Screamingchickens
Beautiful game, but mostly just saw horse riding simulator. Very difficult to stay awake… Don’t get me wrong, I still think the game will be fantastic, just the demo was kinda boring to watch. - Jgrindberg
We just hope that the actual game maintains more excitement than the demo!
Red Dead Redemption 2 is set for release on 26 October 2018 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
