Realm Royale Goes Into A New Realm With Closed Beta For Consoles

Do you ever wonder if World of Warcraft could transform into a battle royale game? Well, look no further. Realm Royale is a fantasy battle royale game developed by Hi-Rez Studios. Initially released as an early access on Steam this June, Realm Royale has now expanded their realm other than PC. It’s coming to the PS4 and Xbox One soon.

Realm Royale is a fantasy battle royale mash-up between World of Warcraft’s range of classes and Fortnite’s cartoonish graphics. The game works like every battle royale game where you have 100 players that can choose to land on the same field, scour for weapons and commence the survival battle among other players to become the sole survivor but with a slight twist.

In Realm Royale, you can select five classes to play Warrior, Engineer, Assassin, Mage, and Hunter. Each class has their different passive perks and unique individual abilities like an engineer can deploy turrets; an assassin can blink away from the enemies or a mage cast fireball to burn the opponents. You play in a team of four players so it’s best to have balanced composition in your team to win the coveted crown.

But, the ultimate way to become the champion of the realm is to craft a legendary weapon using the Forge across the realm. If Fortnite has an ATV to drive around the turf, you can summon your mounts from different parts of the realm in an instant so you don’t have to walk all the time.

Due to heavy demand from the fans, Realm Royale executive producer Rory Newbrough said many people want this game to be included in consoles based on the daily questions they have received on social media since the launch of Realm Royale on PC. Speaking to VG24/7, Newbrough stated “I’m not sure if any of those are actually questions, they were more like demands. But we understand our community wants Realm Royale on console, and we’re thrilled to announce console closed beta testing starts next week.

The access keys for closed beta for PS4 and Xbox One will be available soon. In the meantime, you can sign up for beta here. So far, there is no word about cross-platform play. Remember that cross-play fiasco? I hope it turns out well for this game.
