Available now, a week before the major console releases of Sonic Forces, a mobile racing iteration of the game is available now for IOS and Android devices.
Sonic Forces: Speed Battles is a 3D racing game, similar to the ill-remembered Sonic R for the Sega Saturn and Windows PCs, only this time it's actually fun. Sonic R was released in 1997, that was exactly 20 years ago since a proper 3D Sonic racing game that involves racing on foot instead of karts.
As mentioned before, Sonic Forces: Speed Battles is a racing game, mixing elements from the PSP game Sonic Rivals with the gameplay of two of Sonic's mobile games, Sonic Dash and Sonic Dash 2. Players will be able to compete with their friends in head to head, 4 player races, with levels that have a definitive finish line instead of the endless levels of Sonic Dash.
Levels are based on locales from Sonic's history, including the iconic Green Hill Zone from the first Sonic game and Sky Sanctuary, Knuckle's home in Sonic 3 & Knuckles. Players will be able to race each other with a variety of characters from the franchise, including Sonic himself, the classic version of him, Tails, Shadow and more.
So if you're looking for a high-speed, intense racing game to play with your pals, look no further than Sonic Forces: Speed Battles. Look out for Sonic The Hedgehog's other adventures on mobile as well, we highly recommend them.
