Any news regarding discounts, promos and price cuts is sweet music to any gamer’s ears! According to Sony’s official announcement, the PlayStation VR set’s pricing will be reduced from USD349/RM1349.50 to USD299/RM1156.10. More importantly, this price cut will affect Sony’s existing bundles, so here are the new prices:

PlayStation VR The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim VR Bundle

Original Price: USD349.99/RM1352.50

Latest Price: USD449.99/RM1737.90
Includes the PS VR headset, PlayStation Camera, two PlayStation Move controllers, the PS VR Demo Disc 2.0 and the Skyrim VR core game and all official add-ons.

By reducing the bundle prices, Sony is making their move to convert existing PlayStation and other console users to get into the hype of VR using their Playstation VR sets as they also took this opportunity to tease that “more than 180 games and experiences are expected to launch by the end of this year”.

In Malaysia, the latest (as of press time) price range for different PS VR sets before the price cut announcement from different game stores were roughly between RM1200-RM1350+.

In the overall scheme of things, the playing field has just gotten more competitive. Price and company rivalries aside, PS VR and Nintendo Switch’s gameplay experiences are vastly different from each other so it’s entirely up to customers’ preferences to take home which one. Though, as a consumer, it’s always wise to do your research and see which deal suits you best before forking out a single dime. Whatever your choice, we hope you get the most out of your next gaming purchase!
