Overwatch Summer Games will begin soon with over 40 new cosmetic items

It's summer and it's about time for the Summer Games event to make its way back to Overwatch. Datamined evidence shows that the event might be coming to the game real soon with over 40 new cosmetic items as well as the items from last year's Summer Games event will be back for players to unlock.

Here is the data mined evidence found by data-miner, Yernemm:

"000000004A70.07C: The Summer Games return for more fun in the sun! Your favorites from last year are back alongside 40+ new items!"

Furthermore, there are tons of unknown items in the datamined strings that could possibly be the new items that says "available in Summer Games Loot Boxes":

Instead of having the Olympic theme like last year, we might be having a beach party in Overwatch this year:

Don't get your hopes too high though as Yernemm mentioned that this string might be in the game for last year's Summer Games as well. "I found a string which may suggest a beach theme for the cosmetics. This string could mean anything - it could even be a name of an item that's already in the game but I am unable to confirm this right now. It's only one vague string though and I don't know if it was here last year too," Yernemm stated.

Besides all these data-mined evidence, a new set of achievements was just added into the Xbox version of Overwatch that hints at the return of Lucioball as posted by Ekultron on the Overwatch subreddit.

For new Overwatch players who did not have the chance to experience Lucioball last year, the game mode is a 3v3 Lucio only Rocket League-ish soccer match, where the team that scores the most goals in 4 minutes emerges as victors. It may sound boring but it's actually a fun mode to get yourself out of the competitive edge. As the previous Summer Games event started from August 2, we might be getting the event as soon as tomorrow.
