Week 4 was a week of triumph for some and major losses for others. New York Excelsior (NYXL)’s dominance still reigns after beating both Seoul Dynasty and Shanghai Dragons, while Los Angeles Gladiators continued their rampage after beating both Houston Outlaws and Florida Mayhem. Meanwhile, Boston Uprising isn’t doing too bad after defeating Dallas Fuel and Los Angeles Valiant.

Dallas Fuel and Shanghai Dragons had a horrible week, losing all their match-ups with a 4-0 scoreline while Houston Outlaws, Seoul Dynasty (losing to NYXL and London Spitfire in the same week must hurt a lot) and LA Valiant seem to struggle with their consecutive losses. It is now Week 5, the last week of Stage 2, where the playoffs will be held at the end of the week. Judging from the current standings (seen below), there’s a strong chance for NYXL to face-off against London Spitfire yet again. Will this be another win for Spitfire or will NYXL be able to successfully claim vengeance?

Overwatch League Stage 2 Week 4 MVP & MVT

MVT: NYXL and Los Angeles Gladiators
Straight wins aside, LA Gladiators seemed to have been reincarnated into a whole new team. As for NYXL, their performance continues to stay solid. While the rounds in Stage 2 were impressive, the real fight will begin in Stage 3 when the tournament gets nearer and nearer to the Playoffs period. Next stage will be exciting as Geguri and her new teammates’ inclusion into Shanghai Dragons may just spark a new revolution, like what we saw with LA Gladiators.

MVP:

I think combo and team performances won out over individual standouts. Don’t get me wrong, there were a variety of standouts (as seen in the above Top Plays) but last week felt like a week packed with good team cooperation by winning teams and poor team coordination by losing teams.
