Nintendo Switch passes ultimate durability test in 1,000 foot drop

If you own any current or past Nintendo products, you can always count on it to be durable, which can be a bit too annoying especially when you are banking on your old device to break down in order to get a new one. Be that as it may, it still feels good to know that your gaming device can last for quite some time, and this also applies to the Switch.

Nintendo’s latest hybrid console might look thin and fragile, but its durability can easily match the legendary Nokia 3310. It sounds like a mighty claim, but YouTuber UnlockRiver recently put the Switch’s survival skills to the test by dropping it from 1,000 feet, and it passed the test well.

As you can see, one side of the Joy Con was completely busted, but miraculously, the rest of the Switch survived the drop with minimal damage to the screen. It’s amazing to see that you can still trust the device to play the occasional Breath of the Wild or Mario Kart, but of course, don’t just simply try this test to prove your Switch is one of the toughest consoles around.

Now if only modern smartphones are as tough as the Switch.
