The Nintendo Switch hype train doesn't seem to be stopping anytime soon. Fans have been clamoring for a bunch of features to be implemented and Nintendo is listening, this new Version 4.0 adds video capture, new icons, save transfers, and pre-purchasing and pre-loading games.
The left Joy-con always had a built-in Capture button for taking screenshots, press it once and whatever you have on screen is saved into your album. Now, with the new update, by holding down the button, you can take 30-second footage of the game you're playing. The only thing is that this feature is now only available for first-party Nintendo titles: Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, Breath of The Wild, Splatoon 2 and ARMS.
Though a minor addition, player icons have expanded to include icons from Mario Kart 8 Deluxe and The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wild, to customize your personal profile.
A big feature players have been wanting is being able to transfer save data between Switch systems, a useful feature for a handheld system of the Switch's caliber. Besides that, Switch owners can now also pre-purchase a game on the online store and let it pre-load before it releases, a really useful tool for those who are getting Super Mario Odyssey next week.
A hidden feature in this update is the option to use wireless Bluetooth headsets on the Nintendo Switch. There is a headphone jack for the system, though that was optimal for portable play. For when the system was docked, there wasn't a way to use your headphones. Now, with the new update, it allows for owners to plug in their USB dongle for their wireless headphones and the Switch will immediately recognize.
So far, slowly but surely, Nintendo will add more and more useful features for this hot new system. Let's hope Version 5.0 will provide much more new features for the Nintendo Switch.
