Looks like Neopets is following the footsteps of Club Penguin (RIP) by transitioning into a mobile game. But wait, the website is not shutting down! Neopets website is still alive and well today but it doesn’t garner much traction like the way it did before 9 years ago. However, it’s all about to change with a new mobile game coming up.
During a party at San Diego Comic Con, the Neopets team announced they are developing a new mobile game called as Neopets Legends and Letters. To make it even better, the company announced they will be launching a site alongside the app that allows you to play the plethora of the browser’s minigames on your phone!
According to Neopets CEO David Lord, the upcoming mobile game is a fusion of Neopets lore and Scrabble-like word game as well as battles. Although the original premise of Neopets is taking care of a digital pet while earning Neopoints, we’re sorry to tell you that you’re not able to play the mobile game with the Neopets from your browser account. At the moment, it’s unclear if Neopoints is applicable or transferable in the mobile game.
Nevertheless, you can dress your pets up and customise their accessories. The mobile game also has a storyline shown in a form of comic book style to remain users’ attention to play through the levels.
Neopets Legends and Letters will be coming to Android and iOS this October. Will you be going down the memory lane to Neopia when the mobile game launches? Let us know in the comments on Facebook and Twitter. Don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more gaming content.
