Just ending their closed beta in China, Bandai Namco has announced that the mobile iteration of Gundam, Mobile Suit Gundam Battles, is making their way to English speaking countries next year. The game is being developed by Bandai Namco Shanghai and as such is being made in Chinese and for China first before making its way around the globe.
The game looks to be a bite-sized version of Gundam Versus for the PS4, though with a significantly less amount of Mobile Suits available for use. While Gundam Versus boasts over 100 different characters, Gundam Battles will have 21 different suits to be used spanning from the original Mobile Suit Gundam series to the latest Gundam Iron-Blooded Orphans.
The game will have a Story mode, an Arena mode, and a Team Battle mode that has 3 players fighting together online. The game looks promising as a Gundam game on-the-go and no word yet on whether it will be free to play. Expect Gundam Battles to arrive on IOS and Android platforms sometime in 2018.
