Looks like micro-transactions will be your new nemesis in Middle-Earth: Shadow Of War

By Dale Bashir on Aug 7, 2017

Orcs, loot chests, and XP Boosts are all up for sale! Looks like the new Middle-Earth: Shadow of War is taking a page off of mobile games by introducing the Market, which allows for micro-transactions within the game for players to earn gear and loot for players to grow their Orc army and take down the forces of Sauron. Now before someone pre-maturely shouts "You shall not pass!", the official statement stresses the fact that these in-game micro-transactions are optional and will not gate players from all the content in the game. Instead the new in-game currencies, Mirian and Gold. They can both be obtained by playing the game and will help in getting these new loot chests. Gold can be bought with real money and will be used to unlock higher leveled loot chests, while Mirian can be found throughout the game.

The official announcement covers most of the concerns that one might have over this development and we hope when the game comes out, this doesn't hamper the experience of the game. Middle-Earth: Shadow of War will be released on the 10th of October for PS4, XBox One and PC.
