The Beethoven of video game music, Nobuo Uematsu, is coming to you live at Kuala Lumpur Convention Center on the 16th of December 2017. The former Final Fantasy composer is performing with his band, The Earthbound Papas, making this the first-ever performance by the Japanese prog-rock band in Malaysian soil. He is bringing along his repertoire of hits and his band members, including Michio Okamiya, Yoshitaka Hirota, Tsutomu Narita and Chihiro Fujioka

The news of their performance came from Comic Fiesta themselves on their Facebook page. Fans of Nobuo Uematsu can buy pre-sale tickets at this weekend’s Animangaki while the official sale of the tickets start on the 15th of September.

Nobuo Uematsu has been composing for the Final Fantasy franchise since the first game, composing series staples like the victory theme and Overture. Even people who don’t play Final Fantasy might know him from Sephiroth’s main theme, One-Winged Angel. He started the Earthbound Papas after the disbandment of his previous band, The Black Mages, in 2010.

Be sure to catch The Earthbound Papas at the end of this year, they’ll play some of your favorite Final Fantasy tunes and more! You wouldn’t want to miss this legendary bard’s appearance in KL.
