Kuala Lumpur Hunters (KLH) pulled out all the stops against Eternity Esports to secure their fifth consecutive title in The Legends Circuit (TLC) Malaysia Grand Finals held in conjunction with Selangor Cyber Games at Paradigm Mall, Petaling Jaya. The Hunters won themselves RM40,000 of prize winnings, a brand new Legion by Lenovo laptop, as well as qualifying and representing Malaysia in the upcoming Garena Premier League (GPL), a regional tournament featuring seven Southeast Asian representatives which lead to two qualifying slots into the League of Legends World Championships.
The Grand Finals featured a double-elimination format that stretches back from TLC Playoffs and was contested by Malaysia’s Top 3 League of Legends finalists: Kuala Lumpur Hunters, Eternity Esports and Nirvana Gaming. Established since 2013, it was also announced that TLC Malaysia would be reformed as the League Championship Malaysia (LCM). LCM is designed to elevate the professional eSports scene in Malaysia and position League of Legends as the most comprehensive league to be held domestically. “As eSports continues to grow in Malaysia, the possibilities are limitless for League of Legends. We strongly believe that the reveal of LCM comes at the right time as there has never been this much activation for eSports, campus, community and the game itself,” The eSports commissioner from Garena Malaysia, Dickson Lee said.
There were other activities for attendees to enjoy and participate like the Cosplay Collision, VR zone, stage activities, lucky draw, and many more. The Cosplay Collision between 10 local cosplayers finished with Dovah showcasing a stellar performance as Blood Moon Kalista to walk away with the grand prize of RM 3,000. The winning performance was unanimously decided by guest judges including professional Cosplayer Aza Miyuko from South Korea. as well as Weon Haur and Fujiwara Kazuko from Malaysia. Fire Dragoon's mid laner, JLKC was awarded the Outstanding Rookie award while KLH's ADC, Veki is crowned as the MVP of the Split.
The lucky draw was split into several sessions to keep the audience entertained in between games. The grand prize was a Legion by Lenovo laptop which was given out by Mr. Khoo Hung Chuan, General Manager for Lenovo Malaysia and Singapore.
