Jurassic World Alive Is The Dinosaur Version Of Pokémon Go

By Yue Lynn on Mar 8, 2018

Here comes a new gaming addiction for you poor souls (read: sarcasm)!

According to Gizmodo, this location-based game, which is developed by Ludia, will allow players to “track, collect and do battle with dinosaurs.” Subsequently, in terms of gameplay, Polygon mentioned that “players will track their Jurassic prey with a drone, and must track down supply drops in-game to earn in-game currency and battery life for that drone.”

Plot-wise, “Jurassic World Alive puts players in the role of a new recruit in the Dinosaur Protection Group (DPG). Players are tasked with saving dinosaurs from another extinction by tracking them, collecting DNA samples and creating new hybrid species in a lab. Those man-made dinos can be assembled into a team and fight in player-versus-player arena battles”.

This game will be made available in the App Store and Google Play, sometime before the release of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. And yes, you can pre-register for the game at their official website.

Below are some screenshots of the game, courtesy of Polygon:

So, what do you think? Will Jurassic World Alive be the next big craze? Does it share too much resemblance with Pokémon Go? Or, perhaps, this mobile game can continue to pile on the hype surrounding AR games! But one thing for sure, this game is a good marketing tool for the film and you can bet that this game will garner a lot of downloads.
