If you’ve ever wondered whether music and esports could happen under one single event, look no further because Hyperplay 2018 is the gateway to celebrating music and esports under one roof. Powered up by MTV and Riot Games, as well as presented by Singapore’s Ministry of Culture, Community and Youth and National Youth Council, Hyperplay 2018 is gearing up to take centre stage at Singapore Indoor Stadium from 4 August to 5 August 2018.
Aligned with the slogan, “10 Countries, 10 Teams and 4 Concerts”, the festival is set to have the star-studded performances featuring singer-actor Nick Jonas, Korean superstar CL, Singaporean pop band The Sam Willows, Thai rock band Slot Machine, Indonesian pop idol Afgan, and the latest star addition, singer Alessia Cara. But that’s for the music side.
For the esports enthusiasts, especially the League of Legends fans, get ready for the first ever League of Legends (LoL) ASEAN Tournament as both semi-finals and finals will take off on the same stage.
To raise up the hype level, Kuala Lumpur Hunters (KL Hunters) will lead as Malaysia’s representative in the LoL ASEAN tournament. KL Hunters will be going head-to-head against nine other ASEAN teams from 10 countries including Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Laos, Cambodia, Brunei and Myanmar. These 10 teams will be honing their best strategic game in order to win the coveted title of the first LoL ASEAN Champion in Southeast Asia.
KL Hunters is among Malaysia’s top professional LoL team since its inception in 2012. The team is made up of six star players: Adrian ‘Shiro’ Lee, Chan ‘ArrHedge’ Roonghan, Eric ‘Qaspiel’ Sia, Poon ‘Ozora Veki’ Kok Sing, Ramsay ‘Bipolar’ Devaraj and Vince ‘Wicked’ Ng. You can keep in touch with KL Hunters’ competitive esports journey right here.
