There's still a couple of weeks until the second season and this new game might just tide you over until Stranger Things returns on Netflix. In collaboration with BonusXP, this is a faithful recreation of the first season in 16-bit form and really pays homage to the 80s setting of the series. It even has an NES cartridge as its app icon!
Unlike most video game adaptations of popular TV shows, Stranger Things: The Game is not a match-three puzzle game or a strategic kingdom building game, instead it is an homage to the games from the era Stranger Things is set in, most similarly, the game is a lot like classic Zelda with a hint of Zombies Ate My Neighbours. Players assume control of Mike, Lucas, Dustin, Will, Nancy and Sheriff Hopper, all with their own unique skills to unravel the mysteries surrounding their town.
Some say there is an unlockable secret at the end of the game that is linked to Season 2 of the show, so look out for all of those hidden Eggos all around the levels. Stranger Things: The Game is available now for Android and IOS devices.
