Genji is the latest hero from the Blizzard franchise to join the star-studed roster of Heroes of the Storm, and it seems like he wants to make the game his home as Overwatch's map, Hanamura will also feature in the game as a new map.

The Heroes of the Storm team preserved Genji's skills and abilities from Overwatch with some minor changes to it. The biggest changes to his skillset is his W ability, Deflect. Although it has the same name, Genji's Defelct in Heroes of the Storm throws a kunai at the enemy whenever he is using it. Here is the complete list of Genji's Trait, Abilities and Talents.

  •  Cyber Agility (D)
    • Activate to jump to target area

Primary Abilities

  •  Shuriken (Q)
    • Throw 3 Shuriken in a spread pattern dealing each damaging the first enemy it hits. Stores up to 3 charges. Shuriken’s cooldown replenishes all charges at the same time
  •  Deflect (W)
    • Become Protected for 1.25 seconds. Any damage blocked during this period causes Genji to throw a Kunai toward the nearest enemy, prioritizing Heroes and dealing damage
  •  Swift Strike (E)
    • Dash forward, dealing damage to all enemies in a line. Enemy Heroes who die within 2 seconds after being hit by Swift Strike cause the cooldown and Mana cost to be refunded

Heroic Abilities

  •  Dragonblade (R1)
    • Unleash the Dragonblade for 8 seconds. While active, Dragonblade can be reactivated to lunge forward and slash in a huge arc. If any enemy Heroes are killed within 2 seconds after being hit by Dragonblade, Swift Strike’s cooldown is reset

New Map: Hanamura

In Overwatch, Hanamura is an Assault Map where players have to capture two points in order to win. In Heroes of the Storm however, Hanamura is set to be a payload map, and it comes with a twist.

The main objective in Hanamura is to destroy the enemy's core but you cannot damage it by yourself, instead attacking it through the payload. Pushing the payload to its final destination will transfrom it into a turret that shoots out some sort of rocket to the enemy's core and deducting one life from it.

There are also new mercenaries in Hanamura and they all drop power-ups that can be picked up and used at any time. For instance, a turret that looks a lot like Torbjorn's in Overwatch, an AoE healing pulse token, Dragon Token that reveals 3 enemies for 8 seconds, and many more.

You can now try out Genji and the new Hanamura map in Heroes 2.0 Beta, which is scheduled to go live on April 25, 2017.
