Fortnite On Android Beta Is Open To Play For Non-Samsung Users

By Intan Mawarni on Aug 13, 2018

The rumor has become a reality so far as Fortnite on Android has finally debuted and that it’s exclusive for Samsung users during Samsung’s presentation of their latest Samsung Galaxy Note 9. Those who own a Note 8, Galaxy S7 or later, or Tab S3 or S4, you will also be able to play the beta of Fortnite on Android by going directly to Galaxy Apps store. But if you’re willing to fork out RM3,000 for a Galaxy Note 9, you will receive an exclusive 15,000 worth of V-bucks, which is a generous amount of Fortnite’s in-game currency.

If you’ve been eager to get your hands on Fortnite on Android, good news. The Samsung-Fortnite exclusivity didn’t last long as we thought it would. As we’ve reported before, Fortnite won’t be launched on Google Play Store and it only can be played on 43 high-end Android phones including Razer Phone, Google Pixel handphones and more. Instead, you can get Fortnite on Android directly on their official Fortnite mobile website.

However, the downside is you have to wait a little while to get an official invitation from Epic Games. While biding time, you can install the game first and the developer is quite aware of the security dangers such as malware infestation for applications outside of Google Play Store. As soon as the installation for Fortnite is finished, the installer will automatically give out a pop-out notification to ask for users’ permission. Once you’ve approved it, you will go directly to the relevant section of your device’s settings to disable certain permissions in order to run the game.

As Fortnite on Android is still in beta phase, there are limited slots available for players to hop into the game. You can sign up for an email invite on Epic’s website here. So far, there is no official timeline provided for the waiting time for beta but we’re guessing you’ll have to wait for a couple of days.
