The developer behind Fortnite aka Epic Games has freshly unleashed a giant bombshell: Fortnite Battle Royale will be coming soon to your smartphones and tablets! In their announcement, the developer stated that “Fortnite is the same 100-player game you know from PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, and Mac. Same gameplay, same map, same content, same weekly updates.” From Monday (March 12th) onwards, players can sign up for the Invite Event on iOS, while Android support will be subsequently rolled out in the coming months. Note the fact that Xbox is noticeably MIA...
As the icing on the cake, Epic Games has a partnership with Sony, which means “Fortnite Battle Royale will support Cross Play and Cross Progression between PlayStation 4, PC, Mac, iOS and eventually Android. This means players across devices can squad up with friends and play together!” This is huge news!
In regards to the registration, IOS users “can sign up at www.Fortnite.com for the Invite Event on iOS, whereby email invites will start rolling out soon thereafter. When you are invited, you will receive an email with a link to download the game from the App Store. If you don’t receive an invite right away, don’t worry. We’ll be adding more players regularly over the coming months. Players who receive invites from Epic will also get friend invite codes to share with others.” Sorry, Android users, you gotta wait. But then again, here’s a gem of wisdom for ya: good things are always worth the wait ;).
So what do you think about this? If you’re a Fortnite player, would you also be getting the mobile version of the game? Nonetheless, this is an incredibly smart move from Epic Games to increase their player base.
