EA Sports FIFA Online 3 SEA Open Championship 2017 will be held in Hanoi, Vietnam from 13 - 17 September 2017, and the Singapore and Malaysia (SAM) server will be sending their best Solo players, one from each country, to compete against six other individual FO3 players from China, South Korea, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam. Vietnam has been allocated two slots as they are the honorable host for this year's tournament.

Ryan "RDGxGA1" Kan has been one of the most prolific EA Sports FIFA Online 3 player in 2017 and he will be representing Malaysia in an attempt to take a piece of the prize pool home. FDGxGA1 has made quite a number of headlines thanks to his triumph in winning title after title at the Sungai Wang Championship, Selangor Cyber Games, GSC Cyber Games, and Fantasy Cup: Road to Vietnam 2017.

Fardeen "Fardinho" Hussein will be carrying his nation of Singapore's name and catapult it onto the main stage after coming up on top of the Fantasy Cup: Road to Vietnam 2017 qualifiers. Fardinho is a former second runner-up for the National Championships, and he is eager to make a name for himself in the upcoming tournament.

Garena Malaysia's Game Operations Associate, Fikri Rizal stated that both players from Singapore and Malaysia will be heading into the tournament full of confidence. “Ryan ( FDGxGA1) and Fardinho have been in stellar form. For Ryan, he aims to add more titles to his growing list of achievements in 2017 whereas Fardinho’s progress could see him spring up a few surprises which make for a great round of matches coming our way,” Fikri Rizal stated. “I am especially excited to see our players take on the international stage against some of the bigger names in Asia. As we all know, the likes of South Korea, China, and Vietnam are not to be taken lightly in most eSports titles."
