VR and AR technology experienced a significant growth over the years, as seen from the efforts of video game developers in making more virtual reality titles for mass consumers. While it’s not turning mainstream anytime soon, there are certain technological companies that are incorporating VR and AR into their business model, which is what EXA Global is doing with the launch of the first EXA Outpost.
The entertainment center is located at SetiaWalk, Puchong and it offers a first-person, hyper-reality immersive experience that engages players in inter-dimensional exploration. It sounds like a mouthful, but what the center offers is basically a combination of VR and AR technology, and it encourages players to cooperate as a team to complete the mission.
“EXA Outpost is a project of exploration; we invite friends and family to explore, to engage, to defend and return home with an experience where they can share with one another. The moment they book their tickets, we want them to experience the story together as a team,” said the CEO of EXA Global, Richard Lee during the launch of EXA Outpost recently.
The gaming content was developed solely by EXA Global, which pits a team of four in a closed room, as they engaged in a sci-fi shooting game with its own backstory. Players will be equipped with EXA Gear, a form of player-wearable technology consisting of backpacks, guns, headsets, batteries, and charging system. Once you are fully decked in gear, you’ll then be briefed about the mission, before you take on large alien-like monsters with your comrades in arms. This will ensure participants in getting an immersive and surreal experience, as they explore, engage and complete the story as a team.
“Getting the right module, enhancing the formula, experience and content are key components when creating and building an immersive advanced technology to have people sharing their hyper-reality experience with others. Being that part of the story for our players is important to us, as we know experience is something very valuable we at EXA Global can offer,” added Lee.
On top of the games room, EXA Outpost also contains a Hyper-Reality Arcade Entertainment Centre where patrons can play VR arcade games. They are also planning to expand the games with content updates and incorporating the usage of technologies such as a bodysuit that can transfer the sensation of getting shot to your body. Exciting times are certainly ahead, so stay tuned for more coverage about EXA Outpost!
