There is much that can be said about Zombies mode in the Call of Duty series, as it divides the fan base to those who enjoy playing it, and those who detest blasting hordes of undead soldiers. Unfortunately, it’s a chore for players to experience all of the different maps and modes at one go, since Zombies was featured across different COD entries and console generations. With that in mind, Treyarch has announced that the Zombie Chronicles DLC is coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops III, featuring the complete Zombies package.
In case you are unaware about Zombies mode, it pits you against undead soldiers from various factions, namely Germans, Americans, Russians and Asians. All you have to do is to survive endless waves of zombies, while gaining points to purchase weapons and perks, or to unlock new areas. The Zombie Chronicles DLC will come with eight remastered maps from across Call of Duty: World at War, Black Ops, and Black Ops II.
The announcement was made by Treyarch’s co-studio head, Jason Bundell via YouTube on JCbackfire’s channel. “It's a loving, fan-service piece, by remaking and remastering eight of the original maps,” said Blundell.
We’ll know more about Zombie Chronicles in a special stream by Treyarch on Monday at 1100 PDT (Tuesday 0200 GMT+8) before it releases first for PS4 on May 16. The Xbox version is expected to drop around the middle of June.
