A remaster for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been one of the most sought-after titles for fans of the series, and even though it was eventually released by Activision, it was met with criticism for being included as a bundle with Infinite Warfare. This prompted them to release a standalone version of the game, as it’s now available on PlayStation 4.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered will only come with the base game content, which excludes the Variety Map Pack that contains four remastered maps and 10 rare supply drops. With that said, this move should be good enough for fans who have been clamoring for a remaster of the title that arguably launches the CoD franchise to its international stardom, without being forced to purchase Infinite Warfare.
The standalone remaster is currently available as a timed exclusive for the PS4, and based on Activision’s month-long deals with Sony, it’ll most probably come to Xbox One and PC by the end of July. You can purchase Modern Warfare Remastered in either physical or digital form for $39.99, and you can add on another $9.99 (1 week discounted price on PS Store) for the Variety Map Pack.
