Whether you are an Overwatch player or merely just a fan of the game, I'm sure majority of you are interested in the stories and lore of the characters in the game. However, it can sometimes be very confusing to keep track on how are all these characters related, their lore and origin stories, and also other aspects that makes up the Overwatch world as the game itself doesn't fully intorduce who the various characters are, and the only way to find out is for animated shorts and origin stories to be released by Blizzard or referring to Overwatch wikis out there in the Internet. Well it's all going to end as Blizzard is looking to include the Overwatch lore in the game itself.
A Battle.net user suggested in the Overwatch Forum that character bios can be added into the hero gallery and players can read it while waiting for a game. Overwatch Lead Writer, Michael Chu replied to the thread, stating that it will be implemented in future patches. "We're actively working on getting character biographies and story information displayed in-game. We have some different ideas about how to do this, and you'll probably see the results rolling out little by little in future patches. Ideally, we'd love for you to be able to get most of this information in the game, so it's something we'll continue to work towards," Michael said.
Overwatch still continues to grow with more heroes to come. As more heroes are added, more backstories will naturally follow, and that could be too much information for new players to digest. Heck, even players who have been playing since the launch of the game, like me, don't really know much about the lore since I'm too lazy to search the Internet for it. This addition will certainly help players understand what happened and what is going on in the world of Overwatch.
