A remastered version of Blizzard’s classic RTS game, Starcraft was announced at the end of March, and the developers could have been forgiven if they intend to stop supporting the original game. That wasn’t the case, as Blizzard has updated Starcraft to version 1.18, which is its first patch in 8 years. On top of that, you can now get the entire Starcraft Anthology for free, including the base game and the Brood War expansion.

Starcraft was made free to commemorate the upcoming release of the remastered version, featuring 4K-enhanced graphics. Despite the game being almost two decades old, it still boasts a healthy multiplayer scene, and patch 1.18 serves as a good enhancement for players who prefer to go old-school.

On top of that, this allows newcomers to try what’s Starcraft all about, considering it made significant contributions in paving the way for competitive gaming today. Even if you are not interested in testing your strategy skills against the multiplayer community, the storyline is engaging enough by today’s standards.
