The recent Walmart Canada game listings revealed a number of upcoming games before its timely announcement for E3 2018, which was first brought to attention by Twitter user Wario64.
While other studios remained secretive for their future games such as new Splinter Cell, Borderlands 3, Gears of War 5, and Just Cause 5, Bethesda’s first-person shooter game, Rage 2, was also affected by the reveal, but the company took the leaked news very seriously. I mean, in a serious comedic approach.
In case if you’re wondering about Rage, the game was released in 2011 and developed by id Software, the developer of popular Doom and Wolfenstein 3D. Rage might not be classified as a huge hit but it garnered some cult followings due to its mix-and-match first-person shooter gameplay similar to Borderlands and Fallout.
The publisher went as far as putting the leaked image of Rage 2 as the cover image and icon for the game’s official Twitter page. On top of that, the placeholder image pointed out several mistakes made by Walmart Canada, citing wrong font and key art as well as missing age rating for Rage 2 with the fabulous use of hot pink coloured Comic Sans font.
Although the leak could be highly unreliable, Bethesda’s marketing executive Pete Hines even made a quip regarding this volatile leak.

Furthermore, the mocking did not end there all of the sudden. Instead, Bethesda decided to mess with our minds a bit by uploading a series of images possibly referring to the upcoming Rage sequel.
The first image showed a picture of the Big Ben clock defaced with partial hot pink colour sprayed on what appears to be an unfinished anarchy symbol which may have some resemblance to the pink anarchy symbol that appeared in the picture above.
About 3 hours later, the publisher revealed another cryptic picture of a rocket heading towards the sky, leaving a trail of hot pink smoke. The rocket number “5-14” was what captured my attention of what could’ve been a date (14 May) for some sort of game reveal.
The number “5-14” that signified a possible reveal date actually corresponded to the defaced Big Ben’s clock face which the suggested clock needles to be stuck at 5:14.
Another image displayed a busy London street with hot pink sprayed all over on the road’s big junction, following the earlier Big Ben’s image reveal.
However, the plot thickens when Bethesda tweeted a photo of people queuing up to board a bus called “Anarchy Tours.” The photo also showed a lady with a neon blue mohawk hair clad in metal armour which was quite peculiar among a group of people wearing casual clothings.
Rage is a game that set in a post-apocalyptic near future where an asteroid desecrate the human population on Earth. The main protagonist unknowingly woke up in the middle of wasteland after a century of hibernation. So, the woman in the picture above possibly fit the frame of living in post-apocalyptic period.
We’ve been scratching our heads for hours to find out Bethesda’s true intention in uploading multiple vague images other than the unsure date. Here are more images revealed including a vandalised taxi with pink writings and pink-tattoed number 5 and 14 on a man's hand for you to ponder and speculate.
But our best bet is all of these pink-painted images suggested so far that there will be announcement trailer for Rage 2 coming soon. According to the tweet below, it seems that the trailer is set to release on Monday, May 14th. Based on local Malaysian time, the Rage 2 announcement trailer will be arriving tomorrow.

Before you start losing your mind due to these boggling images, we would like to advise our readers to take this news with a grain of salt. From all we know, it could be smoke and mirrors for pre-E3 announcement from Bethesda or maybe something else related to Rage is in the works. The company seems to be doing very well to not let the cat out of the bag, yet.
