Without a doubt, the Asphalt franchise is one of the most famous racing games on mobile devices today. Their latest instalment, Asphalt 9: Legends looks to provide a seamless experience of an arcade racing game, with a total of 50 licensed cars, powerful graphics and dynamic social features of clans and clubs.
While the Asphalt series has always been regarded as one of the most graphically demanding games to play on mobile, Gameloft announced that Asphalt 9: Legends is fuelled by a new engine of high dynamic range (HDR) and improved rendering to give a better, immersive car experience on the road for the players. In a nutshell, it will become even more graphically demanding.
The new game will be preserving the iconic car stunts from previous games but the French developer will also introduce a new gameplay mode known as “Touchdrive” to add more exciting input into the controls while driving in the game. It would be great if the “Touchdrive” mechanics work well with GameVice like the previous game did. Asphalt 8 ran smoothly with the mobile gaming peripheral device.
Although Asphalt 9: Legends was only just officially announced, we’ve known for quite some time since the game has already been listed in the Google Play Store in several countries, such as Philippines and Thailand, several weeks ago. So far, there is no indication on the global release date from the developer but they said it will be coming soon.
Gameloft is also preparing a demo of the new game for E3 2018 so hopefully, we’ll get some information regarding the release dates and more details on Asphalt 9: Legends.
If you’re looking forward to tilt your Android devices left and right to steer, note that the game only runs in Android 5.0. While waiting for the worldwide release, check out the list of compatible Android devices for Asphalt 9: Legends.
