3 new maps will be added for Quick Play and Competitive in Overwatch this year

Blizzard has never disappoint us when it comes to producing and releasing new content for Overwatch. Within a year of the game's release, Blizzard has already introduced3 new heroes, 3 new maps, 5 seasonal events, several new game modes, and tons of cosmetic items. They are not planning to stop there as the Overwatch team is currently developing 3 new maps for quick play and competitive play, as well as 3 new non-standard maps for Arcade game modes like Ecopoint: Antarctica.

Overwatch Game Director, Jeff Kaplan recently announced the good news to all Overwatch players via the game's forum. "We currently have 3 maps in development, all past the initial playtesting phase that are "standard" maps (QP/Comp). While something could always change, all 3 of those are looking likely for a release this year," Kaplan posted.

To make the news even more exciting, Kaplan also added that there are 3 new maps that can only be played in Arcade are in development. "We also have 3 non-standard maps in development (these won't go in QP/Comp). We also have a few other experiments going on. Hopefully this will satisfy some of what you're looking for. We want to play on these maps as badly as you guys do. We'll work as fast as we can!"

The last map that was added to Overwatch was Oasis and it is almost 4 months old now, so it's in due time now that a new map should be released. Kaplan did not give out any information of the map like what type of map is it, what country will it be in or when will it hit the Overwatch PTR, but rest assured it will all be available this year just as Kaplan promised.

What type of new map do you want to see in Overwatch and what country do you want it based on?
