We began in 2016 as an online media company, with the vision of maintaining quality gaming journalism in Southeast Asia. What started out as a hope soon became a reality, as we are currently serving a readership of more than 800,000 people, while expanding our influence to the English-speaking audience in the region, namely Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Indonesia, Thailand, and the Philippines. Despite the modest traffic, Gamehubs is still very passionate in upholding our vision, and delivering the latest and hottest in the video games industry to our loyal audiences.
We seek to serve the “nerdy” needs of the worldwide gaming community, though with a more in-depth focus to Asian gamers. You’ll find stories related to the region, with features, interviews, and even occasional satires that define the gaming scene in Southeast Asia. Competitive gamers will be glad to know that we are also serving your needs with up to date news about eSports, namely in popular titles like Overwatch and League of Legends.
You can’t build Rome in a day, and we definitely can’t construct Gamehubs with just a handful of individuals, no matter how passionate we are in our work. The team soon expanded to 3 regional offices stationed in Malaysia, Thailand, and Indonesia, each with their own personalized website and Facebook page. With the initial breakthrough in our online platform, Gamehubs still thrives to increase its media offerings as an effort to be more inclusive and adaptive to the current gaming scene. This culminated in our adoption of print publishing as a second business model, making Gamehubs the official licensee and publisher of renowned international magazines in the region. The first project in this initiative is the publishing of Edge Asia, which is one of the UK’s oldest and most reputable gaming magazines. It is our hope that with our publishing endeavours, we can position Gamehubs as a premium entertainment media outlet in Southeast Asia. On top of the publication of Edge Asia, we have also published our very own internally-brewed Gamehubs magazine for three issues, but it’s being redeveloped currently to be more rapid and inclusive to our audiences when it is re-released soon in Southeast Asia territories. We are also an MSC Status company under the initiative of Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC), which is a government agency tasked for driving and uplifting Malaysia’s digital-based companies and start-ups. We are proud to be certified with the MSC Status as it provides us with ongoing support from the Malaysian government on our media undertakings to support and boost the gaming scene locally and regionally.
